Traveling along old disused railway routes - Murcia´s Greenways

In the Murcia region there are numerous disused railway lines that have been converted into “Vías Verdes”: kilometers of well-developed greenways that also have numerous picnic areas and seating areas that invite you to linger and enjoy the landscape.

Due to the predominantly flat course on the former railway lines, it is an ideal area for easy walks, but also long rides on touring bikes. Information boards along the way provide useful information about the length of the route, the time required on foot or by bike and about the sights in the area.

The greenways are a great opportunity for a relaxed weekend trip with family and friends as well as for sporty, ambitious explorers of a larger radius in the wonderful Murcia region.

The shortest car access to get to know a greenway is from Domicilio de Vida:
► 19 km to the start of the Chicharra Cieza Greenway (13.7 km length)
► 23 km to the start of the Cieza Flowering Greenway (10 km length)

You can find an overview of the currently nine different routes with distances (from a few kilometers to 80 km per route), route descriptions and GPX download options under the link below.
